What is Scripture Writing and How to Get Started
What is Scripture Writing?
If you’ve been around Creative Christians, you’ve probably seen Scripture Writing online where ladies will write out the scriptures in colorful notebooks planners or on lined paper. I’ve introduced daily scripture writing into my devotional time each morning with so many great benefits.
Let the Word of God Dwell in You Richly in all Wisdom
Colossians 3:16 says “Let the word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom.”
Dwell (ἐνοικέω enoikeō) in the Greek means to dwell, live and influence for the good.
Richly (πλουσίως plousiōs) means copiously, abundantly and richly.
Isn’t it your heart’s desire to allow God’s word to dwell in your heart richly in all wisdom?
A Scripture writing plan can help that!
As creatives, we learn and absorb things differently. Reading the word is how we feed our souls, but taking the time to let it soak into our heart will transform our lives. ‘we can incorporate God’s word into our lives by methodically copying the scriptures, re-reading and keeping a journal to help us absorb the Word of God into our hearts.

Supplies To Get Started
Getting Started can be as simple or as complex as you want. I’d suggest you go for simple and try to use what you already have on hand.
Here are some of the types of notebooks that I like to use:
Wirebound Inspirational journals (for easy page turning)
My favorite writing utensils to use in Scripture Jouraling are:
Paper Mate Flair Pens– They are my absolute favorite pens and I LOVE the colors they come in. They definitely make my heart smile!
It is my prayer that Scripture Writing will become a tool in your devotional time to help you draw closer to the Lord.
