When we think of courage, we think of men and women who have saved people’s lives with the risk of possibly forsaking their own. Those great acts of heroism are wonderfully inspiring. but in the life of an average person, there are few of us that will be the hero in situations like that.
What does courage look like in Every Day Life? Do you find it difficult to muster up the fortitude to face things that you would rather avoid because of pain, past hurts and difficult circumstances? Cultivating courage is something that goes hand in hand with our Faith and should not be separated or done alone in our own strength. With the Lord working through us, we can cultivate the strength to be courageous in times of intense difficulty.
What are your fears, friend? How do you show courage concerning these fears on a daily basis? Sometimes that courage can simply be displayed as showering, getting ready and ‘showing up’. Did you know that the Lord is cultivating courage in your heart even in this present situation?
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (Joshua 1:9)
Are you weary? Are the situations of daily life wearing you down? God Loves You and is with you EVERY step of this earthly journey. Please take a minute and let that truth sink into your heart!
For over 2 years, after my husband’s brain aneurysms and brain hemmorage, I had to muster courage on a daily basis as I fought the assaulting fear of Satan and the strongholds of what ‘might’ happen to my husband. I dealt with depression and tears were my daily companion. At the end of the day, when I laid my head upon my pillow, I would put my hand on my husband’s head asking God to keep Him with me for just one more day. Just. One. More. Day. Horrible thoughts would batter my heart like a storm, trying to make me doubt God’s grace amidst the peace that, no matter what, He had all things under control.
Are the trials of this life too much to bear? Be strong in the Lord, my Sister! It’s a small consolation at this present moment, but please be assured that God will use these trials for His good. He can also use you to minister to the hearts and lives of others like only you can.
Are you experiencing intense anxiety knowing that your spouse or child might be taken from you due to illness? Take Courage, Dear One! It’s a difficult cross to bear but God shines brightest when He is sustaining you. Let Him Shine. He is upholding you with His right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; ~2 Corinthians 4:17

One of my most favorite books that I have read since becoming a Christian that showcased courage in the Christian race was the allegory Pilgrims Progress. I would recommend it to both young and old Christians alike. (I prefer the original old English version)
Be Courageous in Him!
