The roots of the Lord run Deep. Very Deep. When faced with the winds and storms of this life, His roots keep us firmly planted to withstand trials and hardships.
Dolly Parton said, “Storms make trees take deeper roots”. How true that is!
The storms of life are inevitable. They will surely happen.
Every so often, I ask myself if the roots that I am cultivating are shallow.
Do my roots go down deep into the soil of God’s love and Mercy taking me through difficulty and hardship?
By His Grace we can weather the storm!
We are given the wonderful opportunity to cultivate strong and deep roots that will take us into the journey of Eternity with Him.
Bending. Swayed. Pushed. Oppressed. But never uprooted.
This journaling was inspired by Jadon Lavik’s artwork on his album “Roots Run Deep”. It’s always been one of my favorite albums with a great acoustic vibe and Jadon’s wonderful voice.
I started out with a coloring page that I found online and printed out.
With some transfer paper, I copied it to my bible and traced it with the fine point of my Zig marker.
I painted the green portion with acrylic paint. Since I used it straight with no dilution, there is very little buckling of the page.
Grow Lovely and Deep Roots!
