When you look in the mirror does it constantly remind you of who you are not, pointing out your shortcomings in a world where perceived beauty is tainted?
And what if the mirror is speaking truth about your character and who you are…
Does your past include things that you’d much rather forget?
Do past actions and choices repeatedly haunt you?
Have you seemingly wrecked your life beyond repair?
Does who you think you are ever clash with who you think your Identity in Christ is?
Perhaps the scathing words of loved ones haunt you and remind you of your bad choices?
Maybe you agree with those who said you are no good and you will never amount to anything?
And maybe there were accusations thrown at you that you fulfilled out of ‘obligation’?
When you look in the mirror, who do you see? Exactly WHO are you?
Do you see a girl who is marred by past relationships?
Do you see a girl who you self abused in unthinkable ways?
Do you see the scars of battle on your physical body?
One of the most eye opening things I have done is to Embrace the Accusations of the Devil.
Yes. You read that right. EMBRACE the accusations of Satan.
That might seem like a defeat, but friend, let me tell you, It isn’t.
When the devil tells you that you there is nothing you can do to make yourself acceptable to God, accept that truth.
When he tells you that you have no worth, embrace it.
When he tells you that you have messed up and you can’t fix yourself, embrace it!
Because it IS truth.
There is nothing that we can do in our power to undo our sin. Nothing.
We were sinners. And we sinned.
We committed unthinkable acts that we would rather forget about.
How can we break that cycle?
Christ has made you accepted! Not you!
Christ has made you worthy. Not you!
Jesus has taken our worthless lives and given us worth!
He has taken the accusations of Satan and made us Accepted in the Beloved!
One of the biggest factors in our Faith is accepting who Jesus says you are.
If it’s not us who can change ourselves, then who can do that?
His forgiveness has made us new creations.
His new birth has translated us from the kingdom of darkness to His kingdom of Light!
You are forgiven! (1 John 1:9)
You are God’s child! (Galatians 3:26)
You are God’s workmanship! (Ephesians 2:10)
You are loved! (Romans 5:8)
You are redeemed (Ephesians 1:7)
You are strong through Christ! (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
You are valuable! (Jeremiah 29″11)
You, my sister, have been crucified with Christ! (Galatians 2:20)
You are a friend of God! (John 15:15)
You are an Overcomer! (Philippians 4:13)
Your identity does not hinge upon your sin.
Your identity hinges upon the redemption of Christ and his work upon the cross!
Your Identity in Christ is not who you were. It is who He has made you!
Your redemption is His specialty.
Believe what He says about you.
Believe who he says you are.
Believe, my friend, BELIEVE!
