The wet and warm atmosphere was the only safe haven she had ever known. Had she knew what was coming on her ‘birth’day, I don’t think she would have wanted to leave that comforting and safe space. No one knows why her mother abandoned her in the field of a local forest preserve in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
My life also hung in the balance as a newborn. I was born at 5 1/2 months and had a very long hospital stay as I grew in strength, But unlike that newborn baby, I had a Mom and Dad who were anxious to hold me, love me, and bring me home.
My heart is heavy for the baby girl who has entered this world under the most dire of circumstances.
My prayer is that she will find a permanent loving home and not be shuffled around in social services and in foster homes.
Psalm 68:5 says God is A Father to the fatherless.
In the Hebrew, the word fatherless is translated as ‘yathom’ and is defined as someone who is lonely, bereaved, is fatherless or an orphan.
Dear Sister, are you feeling alone after bereaving the loss of someone near and dear to you?
Do you feel as if you are being swallowed up by grief and loss?
Has your mother or father forsaken you?
Are you dealing with feelings of abandonment?
He is a perfect Heavenly Father.
He has gathered you, child of God, into his family.
Let us cling to God’s truth in Psalm 27:10 says that says:
“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
He is your strength in the midst of grief and loss. Allow the grief to draw you to Him
He is your Heavenly Father and wants to wrap His arms around you and love you.
You might be dissapointed in your earthly parents, but His love will not fail you.
Sister, you are not alone or abandoned!
God is with you!
