Calvary was a day that the world seemed to stop and everything came crashing down. It was the day that true love died. Or so we thought. I don’t think anyone could have foreseen the upcoming victory that would result in three days. Don’t you love how the Lord has completely turned the woe of death into wonderful victory? What was a seemingly dire day in history shows us ressurection, redemption and Victory!
Sometimes I sit in amazement at the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus,
how He gave up everything to come down to Earth, dwelt among sinful man and gave His life for our redemption. It’s simply amazing! This Bible Journaling focuses on the Resurrection of our Lord from Matthew 27 and what was accomplished on the cross by our Lord’s death and resurrection- our Salvation!
“When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn’t move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that true love died, the day that true love died”
I thinly swiped cheapy acrylic paint (the stuff you can find at Walmart for 50ish cents) on the margins of the bible and dried it with a heat gun. I wrote the text with the thin side of my Zig Marker.
I found the graphics for this on an internet coloring page, re-sized it, and traced it lightly onto my bible with a mechanical pencil by taping the printout underneat the page. Coloring pages are wonderful for those who aren’t very artistically skilled! You can find this one over at Clipartbest. After mixing a few drops of acrylic paint with a bit of matte gel medium in a bottlecap, I did the painting with a medium sized brush. I love the brightness of the colors! After it dried completely, I outlined with the same Zig Marker.
I hope you enjoy this journaling! It’s one of my favorites so far!
